The duck mole at El Naranjo. | Cat Cardenas/Eater Austin Where to find the best Interior Mexican dishes in the city Texas is a fantastic place for truly fantastic Mexican food — our proximity and shared border with the country means that that state is full of amazing restaurants serving some of the best Mexican cuisine in the country, and this is very evident in Austin, where it is oftentimes called Interior Mexican (referring to the country’s interior regions) to differentiate it from Tex-Mex (which is its own special blend of Mexican food done with Texas flares). This means all sorts of tacos, enchiladas, moles, cochinitas pibiles, barbacoa, and so much more. Austin’s very best Mexican restaurants span dining experiences, price points, and regionalities. There’s Oaxacan restaurant El Naranjo, whose chef and co-owner Iliana de la Vega won the James Beard Awards’s first-ever Best Chef: Texas award; longtime Allandale restaurant Fonda San Miguel, which ushered in true Interior Mexican food; cool kid Nixta Taqueria helmed by co-owner, chef, and also-James Beard Award-winner Edgar Rico (for the Emerging Chef category); fantastic food truck Veracruz’s full-on restaurant Veracruz Fonda; and many others. For more related dining, check out Austin’s best taco destinations and, yes, Tex-Mex spots.

Title: Extremely Disappointed with WindowTent's Lack of Professionalism and Customer Service I recently reached out to WindowTent for a quote, but my experience was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. When I called, the person who answered simply said, "What's up?" without any semblance of professionalism or willingness to assist. Despite this, I decided to visit the store as advised, only to find it closed despite arriving two hours before the stated closing time. The lack of communication regarding their closure was frustrating, to say the least. Upon returning the following week, I encountered further issues with their inconsistent business hours. It seemed as though they operated on a whim, with little regard for their customers' time or convenience. Even after scheduling an appointment and making arrangements to be there on time, I arrived to find out that the person I had scheduled with wasn't even present. The lack of accountability and consideration for customers' time is unacceptable. Despite expressing my frustration, I was met with excuses and attempts to shift the blame onto me. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customers is deeply disa
