It's Drunks giving and The Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Excellence will return to the stage w/New Rocket Union and Tragic Hands in Longfellow
Event Details
The Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Excellence is a rotating cast of characters led by Brian Herb. You might know his as that sound guy in the overalls, or maybe he recorded your band or fixed your guitar. He's also been quietly churning out a unique, slightly off kilter, but always original brand of rock music for years with his performance career often taking a back seat to the time he spends touring as a tech for other bands. Catch him at home this summer before he's gone again on the road. This show will feature Ben Ivascu on drums (Polica, Marijuana Death Squads, STNNNG, Total Fucking Blood). The bands usual drummer, Alec Tonjes (Tulip, Mal, Burn Fetish) will be switching to bass for this show, just to keep things interesting.
New Rocket Union is a garage punk duo who play stripped down, no frills, in your face rock n’ roll. With hooks that get stuck in your head for days, their high-energy live set can go head-on with bands twice their size. New Rocket Union has shared the stage with punk rock luminaries such as The Vibrators, The Lilingtons, and Flatfoot 56. Their debut album gained attention from local radio and international podcasts, and they currently have an album of new material set to release spring of 2022
Tragic Hands was started mid pandemic as a jam / creative outlet for guitarist Rich Horton and drummer Laura Bennett. Enter Darren Harff, a guitar player. which prompted Horton to switch to bass. Everything seemed to click, and Tragic Hands was off to the races. Songs came together, and two months later, they were playing their first show. More shows, recordings and an album is on the way
